Format of the monthly meetings
Our meetings are held on the 3rd Wednesday of every month. Our venue is The Centre at St Peter's, in Ravenshead.
The meetings start at 7.45pm. There is a voluntary contribution of 50pence towards refreshments.
Non-members can come and try our meetings. The first visit is free but we then ask for a contribution.
Twice a year we have a party- in June and December. Usually this is along the lines of a Faith Supper ( Faith supper means that you have faith that everyone will take a plate of food and there will be enough to go round!). There is always a delicious spread with many members going up for seconds! There is a competition-this might be a craft item, a poem, a photo with a related theme. We often have a quiz which is not taken too seriously and is good fun.

Business Part on the Meeting
This is usually the first part of the meeting and it includes our President welcoming our members and guests, correspondence, reminders and AOB. The correspondence includes the upcoming events organised by National and Notts Federation. There are lots of Notts Federation events on offer for members.
Main part of the Meeting
The programme for this part of the meeting varies. Sometimes we have a speaker, the subjects vary enormously. In past years we have heard all about keeping chickens, The Dogs Trust, Trekking Mt Kilimanjaro, Belly Dancing, St Pancras Station and Everest Base Camp and many other topics.
Our August meeting is a more informal, social meeting. One year we played kurling- great fun and all skill was wiped out by the very uneven floor in the old hall!
Two of our meetings each year are parties . The first is in June and is our "Birthday" Party. The second is in December and is our Christmas Party.

Jerusalem?
Jerusalem is always sung at the Notts Annual Meeting, held in the Royal Concert Hall in April, and National meetings. Some WI's sing Jerusalem at every meeting. Up until recently we have not sung Jerusalem at our meetings but we had a request from a member for us to sing it. In response to this it was sung at our Christmas party 2018 and we plan to add it here and there at future meetings. By the way, you don't have to be a jam or cake maker to belong to the WI!
